Please note that this information was updated at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 with a revised student schedule for the week of Sept. 21-25.

Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School will relocate to ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ High School for the first marking period of the school year due to ongoing renovations and mold remediation at Myers.

Myers students whose families have selected in-person attendance will attend school on the first floor of ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ High’s new academic building. This applies to students in sixth-grade, and students in grade 6-8 in self-contained special education classrooms. The first marking period ends Nov. 13.

ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ High’s new academic building will be otherwise unoccupied except for the Myers students, faculty and staff.

All City School District of ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ general education students in grades 7-12 are attending school in a fully virtual instructional model due to the district’s anticipated loss of as much as $23.2 million in state aid, a result of the economic impact of COVID-19. This virtual model will be in place at least until Feb. 1.

Myers students relocating to ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ High will follow a fully virtual instructional schedule during the week of Sept. 21-25, with attendance through Google Classroom from 8:40-11:15 a.m. each day.

Myers will begin in-person attendance in the new temporary location on Tuesday, Sept. 29. This will apply to all Myers students enrolled in the in-person model. It will be a full school day, from 8:40 a.m.-2:18 p.m.

CDTA transportation, and First Student yellow bus service for students whose Individualized Education Plan (IEP) requires specialized transportation, will be provided for all Myers students attending ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ High at the start of the school year.

The renovations and mold remediation at Myers have been ongoing throughout the summer following a water leak that caused damage throughout the building’s academic wing.

In light of this, the district has made the decision to shift Myers’ in-person attendance to the high school’s state-of-the-art new academic building, which opened in February and has been vacant since the pandemic forced school buildings to close in mid-March.
