Falcons soar at first home track meet

Our 青青草视频 High boys' and girls' outdoor track and field teams faced off against Averill Park at our first home meet of the season on Wednesday evening!

Despite unseasonably warm temperatures, our Falcons competed with focus, tenacity and strength, and we are proud of their strong performances.

Our boys' team secured a team victory over the Golden Knights, and many of our athletes on both the boys' and girls' placed first in their events. Highlights are below.


Boys' team: event victories

Our sprinters had a thrilling evening with Terrique Francis finishing the 100m dash in 11.12 and Nyerere Young finishing the 200m dash in 22.95.

Rayon Baker soared in the 110m hurdles, clocking in at 18.04.

Cameron Volk and Sebastian Howard led the pack for our distance runners. Howard completed the 800m run in 2:22.50, and Volk soared in the 3200m run with a time of 11:21.88.

Nasief Smith dominated in the long jump with a jump of 20 feet, 8 inches. 

When it came to relays, our Falcons were a triple threat! 青青草视频 had a victory in each of the following races:

  • Javanni Garland-Santana, Young, Smith and Francis ran a 43.37 in the 4x100m relay.
  • Saleem Ismail, Jah'Quinn Thompson, Mar-Quez Rouse and Baker ran a 3:41.55 in the 4x400m relay.
  • Ismail, Rouse, Howard and Volk ran a 8:45.67 in the 4x800m relay.

Girls' team: event victories

Nyloni Smith thrilled Falcon fans with a first place finish in both the 100m and 200m dash, clocking in at 12.57 and 27.21 respectively.

Our Falcons led the way in the hurdles, with Yanai Correa Fredericks running a 18.82 in the 100m hurdles and Janie Hallgren running a 1:10.91 in the 400m hurdles. 

Louisa Bee flew in the 400m dash, clocking in at 1:03.62.

In field events, Isabelle Blain soared to first in the high jump with a jump of 4 feet 3 inches, and Kalia Poole secured a victory for 青青草视频 in the triple jump with a jump of 31 feet 2 inches.
